WAITLISTED MEMBER SIGNUP

Arcadia wanted to increase account signups, but was delayed by community solar development – only certain states had active policies for the program, and sometimes those states still did not have live solar farms.

To kick-start accounts, we designed a signup flow that allowed folks to not only create Arcadia accounts, but also connect their utility accounts and payment methods as waitlisted members. That way, once a community solar farm became available for them, Arcadia had all the information needed to enroll them immediately.

It was a good challenge to try using a signup funnel as a space to educate consumers on why they needed to preemptively share sensitive information.

We were constantly solving for comprehension of community solar at Arcadia. To encourage more signups, we designed a short set of screens that explained the program.

These screens walk users through an intro to community solar, anticipate questions by sharing transparency on the program’s inner workings, make the user feel like a climate hero, and set expectations of ease.

Here’s an example of a time that I got to work with product designers on updating some in-app copy for a partner of Arcadia.

With a few small edits, I was able to add clarity to the screen without increasing length.
